The Aconcagua Valley is a wine-producing region of Chile, located 100 kilometres (60 miles) north of Santiago’s capital. It was long thought that this hot, dry valley was not suitable for growing wine grapes. Still, the quality of the region’s modern-day Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot has robustly reversed this opinion.

Depart at 09:00 from your Hotel in Santiago and drive for 1,15 hrs to Aconcagua Valley arriving to Viña Von Siebenthal for Tour + Wine tasting. For over two decades, Mauro von Siebenthal, a Swiss lawyer and wine aficionado, had a dream. In 1998, with the financial support of four friends, Viña von Siebenthal finally became a reality. Ed Flaherty and Jen Hoover are two Californians who arrived in Chile in 1993 to work in a harvest and then decided to settle in the Aconcagua Valley. This valley has an exceptional climate for growing grapes, producing red wines with soft tannins and intense fruit aromas. In 2004 Ed and Jen began the “Flaherty Wines” adventure as a boutique winery producing their red blends. From the first harvest of 1,200 bottles, the winery grew and managed to produce 40,000 bottles in 2015. You’ll be able to enjoy a tour of the winery and taste two of their best wines.
